Title: Don’t Be a Hero
Author: Chris Strange
Available on November 2nd
From Goodreads:
It’s a bad time to be a superhero.
When the world turned its back on metahumans, the golden age of superheroes came crashing down. But now a mysterious supercriminal is making one final bid for power, and with no one else left to protect the world, ex-hero Spook must risk everything to take him down. There will be no reprieve, no negotiation. War is coming.
Put on the mask. There’s work to be done.
Between all the MLB playoff games that’s been going on I haven’t been reading as much so I didn’t get to this book last week. Now that I’m finally reading it I couldn’t be happier. It’s everything I expected and then some. There are some spots that had me a bit uncomfortable but in a good way. I haven’t gotten very far into the book so I look forward to seeing how much more it has to offer.
Author: Tamara Rose Blodgett
From Goodreads:
Caleb faces possible jail time for using Clyde as a undeadly weapon. When he’s exonerated with probation lasting a year, Caleb has to watch his every action. Tensions run high when after the death of Jade’s only relatives, she must live with an undesirable foster family who are anything but what they seem….
Life gets complicated for everyone when the scientists responsible for the paranormal manifestation threaten a parellel world to Caleb’s own. In a bid to stop the destruction of their world, while saving his own, Caleb must defend two peoples against the long arm of the Graysheets.
Time begins to run against him when he discovers through an unlikely source that his friends have been given a drug that causes progressive insanity. Can he find the antidote in time to save them? To save Jade?
The Death Series is slowly coming to a close to my dismay. Nevertheless I’m eager to read the next installment. I love love love reading about Caleb and the gang. I can’t recommend this series enough.
Title: The Man Who Built the World
Author: Chris Ward
Available at: Kindle
From Goodreads:
Matthew Cassidy stands on the brink of self-destruction. His career is in tatters and his marriage is hanging by a thread. Then one day he receives an unexpected phone call from his estranged father and Matt is forced to return to the home town he abandoned in a torrent of violence sixteen years before. There he will face his demons and find either his salvation or the destruction of everything he holds dear.
The Man Who Built the World is a paranormal/fantasy/horror novel of 230 pages.
Chris Ward is the author of the science fiction epic The Tube Riders, as well as dozens of published short stories, the best of which can be found on Amazon as part of the collection Ms Ito’s Bird & Other Stories.
Depending on how the playoffs go I might have time to read Chris Ward’s new book. He was kind enough to send it to me for free in exchange for an honest review. I really loved his book The Tube Riders. (Read my review here.) I’m really looking forward to reading his next book.
Finally I have to read the next chapters of the SSAD Read Along. I’m anxious to find out what happens next in Eleanor’s adventures. I’m really enjoying this book!
That wraps up what I’m reading this week. What about you? What are you reading?
