This week’s Stacking the Shelves isn’t as abundant as usual but it’s full of good stuff! Let’s get started!
The Unnaturalists is a young adult book about a young girl who catalogs Unnaturals and a boy who is a refinery slave. They get caught up in a web full of “deception and intrigue”. I’m reading it right now and so far so good!
Song of the Fairy Queen was a free book and I fell in love with the cover. It’s toted as a classic fantasy tale. It has a castle under siege and a fairy queen! What more could you ask for ? The Black Isle was on sale and it’s a ghost story with an immigrant girl from China. Since I’m half Chinese I was particularly interested in this one.
I’ve been wanted to get Shadows and Onyx for awhile and since I already have Obsidian the first Lux novel, I decided to get the other two. It’s a young adult alien love story. At first I thought it sounded corny, but the more reviews I read the more I thought this really sounded cool. So I thought I’d take the plunge.
The Uglies is something I’ve been wanting to read for a long time and it was on sale. It’s been much touted and raved about. It’s a dystopian science fiction novel that has everyone in society have an operation to become beautiful. Like mass cosmetic surgery. It sounds intriguing. Especially since in this day and age everyone is so preoccupied with superficial beauty you wonder where it’s going to lead us.
Full Blooded is an ARC I received from the publicist of the author in anticipation of an interview I’ll be doing with Amanda Carlson. I’ve already read the book and I can tell you it rocked. It’s coming out on Septemember 11th and I feel especially privileged to have been able to read it before the release date.
That wraps up this week’s Stacking the Shelves! Hopefully I’ll be back on Monday with What are you reading! Last week I didn’t have internet so I had to skip it. Have a great weekend!
I am currently obsessed with getting a copy of Oynx. All of a sudden, I want to read some YA. Really great stack you got there. 🙂
Yeah I’ve been obsessed with YA recently. 🙂
Song of the Faerie Queen looks awesome. Full-Blooded was awesome. Great haul of books. Come visit me as well.

Doesn’t it? I think free books get a bad rap.

Oh I loved the prequel novella Shadows :). We know so much more about Daemon and Dee’s brother thanks to this novella.
And I’ve just read Onyx this week and LOVED it !!! I already can’t wait to read Opal now :p. I hope you’ll enjoy reading all these books !
And if you are interested I’m doing an international giveaway on my blog to celebrate my 2 year blogoversary :).
Yeah I’m looking forward to reading the series. 🙂
Yay! Hope you enjoy Uglies. I loved it. The rest of the series is a bit shaky but enjoyable.
I hope so too! I won’t get a chance to read it for awhile though. My TBR list is Ugly! Haha.
Oh wow! I actually love all of these books and quite a few of them are on my Wish List! 🙂 I just bought Obsidian after reading a friend’s rave review, and am excited to dive into that series. Apparently the male lead is “to die for” right? 🙂
Great haul, Opal! ❤ Hope you enjoy all your lovelies!
Yeah, I’m excited about the Lux series too! I just wish my TBR list would shrink magically! 😀
