Throwback Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by The Housework Can Wait and Never Too Fond of Books.
It’s the nature of book blogging to focus mainly on new releases, but there are thousands of great books out there that haven’t seen the “New Releases” shelf in years. We hope to be able to bring attention to some older titles that may not be at the top of the current bestseller list, but still deserve a spot in your To-Be-Read pile.
You don’t have to be a book blogger to participate! You can put up a Throwback Thursday post on your non-bookish blog; or if you don’t have a blog at all, just use the comments to tell us about a book you remember fondly.
Here’s how it works:
1. Pick any book released more than 5 years ago. Adult, YA, Children’s; doesn’t matter. Any great book will do.
2. Write up a short summary of the book (include the title, author, and cover art) and an explanation of why you love it. Make sure to link back to The Housework Can Wait and Never Too Fond of Books in your post.
3. Link up your post at The Housework Can Wait or Never Too Fond of Books.
4. Visit as many blogs as you can, reminisce about books you loved, and discover some “new” books for your TBR list!
Title: Moon Called
Author: Patricia Briggs
Series: Mercy Thompson
Publication Date: January 31, 2006
Publisher: Ace
ISBN-10: 0441013813
Available at: Amazon – Barnes and Noble
Summary:
Mercy Thompson is a were-coyote. Her boss is a gremlin. Her neighbor is a werewolf. Her life is anything but normal.
I fell in love with Mercy Thompson the minute I read Moon Called. She’s strong, she’s feisty, and she’s independent. Mercy didn’t just melt into a man’s arms. She didn’t just get wooed. She took some serious convincing. Mercy is also extremely competent at everything she does. She’s no damsel in distress.
Mercy Thompson’s world is also very intriguing. It’s a world where the Otherworldly are slowly integrating with the Normals. Where the Werewolves have to seriously consider going public. Where the Fae live on reservations. I love to imagine such a world. A world where magic co-exists with science in the open.
I plan on rereading this series soon. I just need to find the time. You know how that goes.
Interesting book. Looks like another book to add to my TBR pile. Thanks for sharing.
Not a problem!
I really need to read this series. I’ve read the first two books in Patricia Briggs other series, Alpha and Omega. I really enjoyed them, and it soulds like I’d like this book too! Thank you for sharing and for stopping by my blog. :o)
That’s so funny. I’ve not read the Alpha and Omega series. Looks like we’re switched up. 🙂
I should pick up those books!
I love this series! Awesome choice,
New follower!
Thanks for following!
Whoa, that sounds really interesting! I’ve never heard a book with were-coyotes before! And I’m intrigued by the idea of magic and science coexisting.
I know I’m super-late this week, but thanks for participating in Throwback Thursday!
