Title: Taunt

Author: Claire Farrell

Genre: Paranormal

Available at: AmazonBarnes and Noble

From Amazon:

All Ava wants to do is forget about the vampires, but they won’t leave her alone. Between her failing business, angry landlord, disloyal friends, and vampire stalkers, life is starting to feel pretty stressful. When Ava finally deals with her biggest problem, she is caught up in the chain of events it triggers and taken along a path she can’t escape from.

Ava has to figure out what exactly is her biggest threat: the humans, the vampires, the Council—or her true heritage.

After reading the free novella Thirst, I instantly fell in love with Ava Delany. I bought both Taunt, book two and Tempt, book three of the series. This series is action packed and since I started book two last night it hasn’t disappointed me. I’ve finished 63% of it so far and  it’s fast reading. Maybe I’ll finish the book today and move on to Tempt.

I haven’t gotten into a vampire series in awhile. Not since the Twilight series came out. I used to love vampires until that series came out. Claire Farrell’s vampires are anything but sparkly. They’re ugly and mottled. Monsters. Just what vampires should be.

Ava is a half-human, half-vampire hybrid. A daywalker, much like the movie character Blade. Only she doesn’t go around killing vampires haphazardly. I love following her adventures. I just wish there were more books already released in the series!

I’m halfway through In the Cul-de-Sac. I’m liking parts, and liking other parts not so much. I really like how each new section is sort of introduced through something in the previous one; the characters interact so little with each other that it’s nice to see that they at least notice one another!

I know what you mean. Some of the chapters weren’t to my taste either, but on the whole I liked the book. They really don’t have much to do with one another though.

I’ve seen Thirst on Amazon and considered downloading it a few times. I just did. I love vampire series and this one looks good!
